About Mehrzad

Mehrzad Bazyar is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-108725) who is currently working in County of Ventura "Rise" program. Mehrzad also works in "All-In Health Foundation" Thousand Oaks office, and in private practice office in Camarillo. Mehrzad is experienced in helping people dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, Grief and Bereavement, self-esteem and interpersonal/relationship issues. He provides psychotherapy, and family counseling in a safe, empathic, non-judgmental, and non-pathological environment.

Mehrzad’s approach is an integrated of “Cognitive Behavioral”, “Adlerian”, “Family System”, “Client Centered”, “Solution Focused” and “Reality Therapy”. He offers a highly personalized approach tailored to each client individually. His desire is to provide a respectful, nurturing and safe environment to reach the therapeutic goals. He believes that such an atmosphere can provide a place for the clients to grow, overcome the obstacles of life, and improve their relationships.

Mehrzad received his Associate degree in “General Studies” from Indiana University and his Bachelor degree in “Psychology” from University of California Santa Barbara and his Master of Science in “Counseling Psychology” with an emphasis in “Marital and Family Therapy” from California Lutheran University.

Mehrzad Bazyar has working experiences in "Community Counseling Services" of California Lutheran University during 2014-2015 as a "Psychotherapist and Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee". Also he was working in "Camarillo Hospice" as a "Grief and Bereavement Counselor" in 2016. Mehrzad was working in "Vista Del Mar Behavioral Hospital" in Ventura city as a "psychotherapist" from June 2016 providing assessment, treatment planning and therapy for more than 1700 adolescence and adult patients until "The Thomas Fire" destroyed the hospital in Dec. 5th 2017. Mehrzad joined California HOPE Team to support the Thomas Fire Victims. Since Sep. 2018, Mehrzad joined Ventura County Behavioral Health RISE Program as a Mental Health Clinician. Mehrzad also provides counseling services in his private practice office and via Telehealth since 2015.
